Would you rather have your own private aerial instruction at Airbound Arts?
These are one-on-one sessions for you to focus on a specific apparatus, or just to get some hands on private instruction with a fabulous coach. ClassesWhile Airbound does not generally offer classes except on special occasions, our sister studio Sparrow Studios does!
Introductory and advanced level classes for both children and adults are available for aerial silk, trapeze, rope, lyra, and sling (hammock), tumbling, handstands, and more. Check out www.sparrowstudiosolympia.com, only a few blocks from Airbound Arts right in downtown Olympia. Membership requirementsUsually, members at Airbound progress through at least the Continuing Beginner 2 class at Sparrow Studios (see our Membership page for more info on membership). Sparrow Studio's aerial classes will teach you the necessary skills to pass the membership test at Airbound Arts. If you are not interested in classes, please email our instructors to schedule private lessons. If you have previous aerial experience, please email us to schedule an assessment to determine if you pass our skill requirements to be a member, or for us to put you in contact with Sparrow to determine what level Sparrow classes you should take. |
Interested in Coaching?
Temporary instruction: If you are an instructor coming through town interested in coaching a workshop or private lessons, please e-mail [email protected] to inquire about scheduling.
Getting Hired / Private Instruction: If you are an aerialist moving to town or currently living in town and want to become a coach, we suggest you email Sparrow to inquire about hiring, and / or attend a teacher training online or in a nearby city (Seattle, Portland). Historically, coaches in Olympia have moved through the ranks at Sparrow Studios in order to become coaches; Olympia does not currently have a teacher training program. Airbound does not currently offer a teacher training program, or train coaches.
Airbound approves new coaches to teach private lessons on a per-coach basis, considering past teaching experience, including a teacher training, at least 2+ years of experience; we also consider general integration with the community and volunteer experience. To be assessed for approval as a private lesson coach or open gym monitor, please e-mail us your interest, CV, and community history.
