Interested in becoming a Keyholder at Airbound Arts?
A Keyholder must demonstrate these skills to show they are capable of training in a safe and controlled manner.
Vertical:
Keyholders are trained to change out flylines, but NOT trained to change out rigging. You must be trained by an Airbound Arts Aerial Instructor or an AVASTeam member.
Keyholders must close up the studio thoroughly and safely, following the closing checklist, which includes:
ONLY Keyholders are approved for private training. Friends/Partners/Family members may accompany you to the studio, but may not use mats or equipment. This includes frequent flyer members and other aerial students. No shoes on the mats ever and please keep your pets off the mats and in designated pet areas.
Personal Equipment:
Members are limited to 1 point of rigged personal equipment on their own spansets at a time. Personal equipment must be rigged by a current Airbound Rigger. Contact [email protected] for more info.
Accessing the space/Locking up:
Lock up bikes in bike parking on the sidewalk or bring into the studio. Please do not leave your bike at the studio for any extended period of time.

- Be able to climb to the top of fabric or rope 3x's without touching the ground in between.
- Be able to safely wrap & execute a drop.
- Be able to hold a straddle for 30 seconds.
- All should be executed with good form.
- Be able to demonstrate changing out flylines and daisy chaining. (If you do not know how to do this, you will be trained upon completion of this test.
- Be able to execute a pullover with or without a beat and safely hold a front balance with or without hands for 10 seconds.
- Be able to safely and correctly execute 5 body beats, 5 knee beats and invert to basket.
- Be able to hold a basket for 30 seconds.
- All should be executed with good form.

- putting away any equipment used during training
- turning off heater and/or fans
- locking ALL doors and making sure lockbox is closed
- making sure all toilets are flushed and bathroom is in good shape (no toilets running)
- washing any dishes in the sink, even if they are not yours
- Sanitizing common areas you touched (door knobs, light switches, sink faucets)
